Wedding Bells

No not mine yet, but M and I were in our good friends wedding this past weekend so I have been a little off the map celebrating and then recuperating from this past weekend. Pictures will come but probably not until I see everyone elses, or the professional since I certainly did not take any. It was a wonderful weekend and so full of fun.  Their rehearsal dinner was held at Campo di Bocce. If you are in the Bay Area and want a fun way to have dinner, it was a ton of fun.  The grooms parents set up a bocce tournament and picked names out of a hat. I had the grooms dad as a member of my team and M had the grooms mom. Crazy thing is we were the two teams who went to the championship. Saturday was the wedding and it was a veryyyyy long day. Sunday nap time! So lucky to have Miss Chloe stay with my sister because she was worn out from playing with her cousin and very kindly let me sleep all afternoon.

So yesterday I found the goody spin pin! I have been looking for these since I saw the commercial for them and finally found them at Walgreens yesterday.
Thus far I have to rate them really high. They are awesome. I have a ton of hair and a couple bobby pins never do the trick, well these do it for me, I really like them now and will probably use these going forward instead of throwing my hair in a pony tail. Magic!

Well not much else now, heading to get some fro-yo now though.  YUM!!!

The sweet smell of coffee

Seriously just give me an IV full of it! This morning I had to be up at 3 a.m. just to file our quarterly report.  Shit hit the fan on Friday and needless to say I was making calls and editing the report at 10 p.m. last night and up earlllyyyy this morning to make sure it hit the wire. It is my last filing with the company though because of the acquisition :(

In other news now I will have some time and will be in full wedding planning phase trying to get stuff checked off. Chloe gets her last vaccinations and spayed on Wednesday so I get some time at home with her on Thursday and Friday. so excited to take some time at home! I cannot wait for my 4 day weekend! Oh and pictures came from my little sisters wedding. Love this picture, minus the gargantuan swimmer arms that are showing in the picture.

It really did turn our beautifully. Love you seester.

Here's to a short week full of just wrap up!

Some pretties

NoSo I mentioned here and here about these Tory Burch wedges. I finally was able to sneak them out of the car and into the house, when it comes to shoes I like to quietly rotate them into the collection (although M ALWAYS notices). So here are they are!
Ahhhh, a perfect add to my wedges, I have tan, bronze.. etc but no chocolate brown so now I do! Now I just need a cute summer dress that will go with them and then I can put on display on Sunday for the Bridal Shower. Wow come July I think we are done with weddings except for ours and the little sisters. Oh joy joy.

So tonight to try to make everything go a little better this week I am sitting in front of the tv with something so delicious next to me. Yep one of my new favorites, how I love spring and summer brews! By the way I am pretty amazed by my ability to have the light ok in this picture. Seriously I need photo classes or something cause I suck! Alright I am off... on to try to finish my shoes. Yea I kinda hated the big studs so I took them off and am now doing smaller ones. One day I will finish them. Alright totally random post but well thats how my brain works. Have a good night.

Miserable Monday

Uggghhh please tell me that Friday is here! I very much need a weekend because I had a non-existent weekend. Yeah quarter end sucks my butt! Next weekend I cannot wait! Saturday I will spend with my little girl and Sunday is a bridal shower for one of my good friends so basically it is a girls day with good food and drinks.

We finally set a date for our housewarming party, May 29th! Yep Memorial weekend. The Beirut table will be coming out along with the cornhole game and the homebrew! Ahhh perfect way to have a 3-day weekend. You guys around? Stop by, M makes some of the best homebrew around!

It would be ohhh so nice now if M and I actually have a serious conversation about booking a vacation, I am in serious need of some relaxation!

Guilty pleasures

I am very guilty today. Not supposed to be spending any money (Chloe is now our Platinum Retreiver) and I picked up 2 dresses today on Hautelook.com.  I have a few Matty M items and love them, all the materials are super soft and the brand seems to fit me well, so I jumped on it and grabbed the dresses. I do have 2 more weddings this year so figured I needed some for bridal showers, bachlorette, rehersal dinner etc. So oh well I am only young once right.  Here are the dresses (pictures from hautelook.com):
Loving them, and no worries the white one will not be worn to an actual wedding. I have my beautiful bridesmaid dresses for that (can you sense the sarcasm?)

In other related news this weekend is my little sister's wedding. So crazy! So today is Friday for me! Tomorrow it is rehersal, mani-pedis and some great Mexican food for dinner. Sheen if you are out there reading this, Congrats, I love you! Now I should probably get back to work since I need to get out of here because I still have not written my maid of honor speach.... opps

Have a great weekend lovelies!
Oh P.S. Congrats to my Yankees too for taking the first series against the BooSox

Party time, excellent

Oh thank goodness for Fridays (even though I have to work this weekend, at least it is at home).

M got back last night from his trip and apparently will not be heading out on anymore, I would not be surprised if that changes come Monday. So he took today off and guess what he is doing, yep jumping out of the plane. I found this picture picture on Bay Area Skydiving's photo gallery.  See those yellow legs and orange shirt. Thats my boy jumping to his life content.

So he is back from Texarkana and tomorrow morning.  I am getting me some of these. Hello luvr, delish!

(image via google images)

It probably has something to do with the fact that the word cake is in them but pancakes I could eat breakfast lunch and dinner, with a side of hash browns. I cannot wait for tomorrow!

Also happening tomorrow, our bedstands are arriving! Between 10:30 and 12:30 tomorrow I will be patiently waiting for the truck from Room and Board to arrive with our bed stands. We still have to wait on the bed frame, but it is supposed to be here by the end of the month.

Saturday night, a friends b-day watching some Diamond Dave. Who is he you ask? Just the most super cool dude ever. Seriously check out his website, I am thinking, hmmmm maybe wedding material?

Well hope everyones weekend is lovely. I will be here till the CFO decides he is finally done with what he needs to give me and then I can start my work. Booooo

Just call me Martha

So this whole wedding thing (mine, friends and sisters) and the new house have me channeling my inner Martha. Last night I started sanding down the wall in the kitchen  to remove the texture for the chalk board wall and today I have the reminents in my nose. Note to self go buy a mask before I finish sanding.

Sunday night was sewing night. I saw an idea about sewing napkins for weddings and what not so I decided to take on the project for my sister's bridal shower. So here I am sewing away. Notice the machine, it is my Mom's and that thing is older than me. I know right, how is something older than my old self? I got through about 20 napkins and the lines, not so straight, oh well, its the thought right?

I am actually excited about the bridal shower because it will be the first time that I have had a party at my house. We have been too busy for a house warming party and now M is gone for 3 weeks for work, then he gets back and I am in crunch time for work. We will get there and you better believe there will be beer and probably a little beirut.

Hope everyones short week is going well.

Firefighting

So this was me yesterday.  I was fighting fires all morning (of course not in the literal sense) but yesterday morning was quite a morning at work. I then got home and took care of two more boxes and got them up off the kitchen floor and two loads of laundry done so that we can almost see our bedroom floor.

It is starting to look a little more like home and less of a storage facility, although the garage, well we have a longggg way to go with that. Currently wandering around on amazon, etsy and so forth for little decorating ideas. We found a bed frame and one bedside table (I do not want to match them) at Room & Board. If you like the simplistic, clean lines, no frill this place is awesome! M spent last night under the house doing some minor fixing to our HVAC since the seller gave us the money in our closing costs instead of fixing it, whatever M likes those projects.

Oh we also set a date! June 3, 2011, I will become a Mrs. and M and I will be throwing probably our biggest party we will ever have (not a large wedding, 100 peeps, but a great big party for us!).

I am also feeling a bit of beautiful KLaw's pain, although mine came in the form of Conjunctivitis, thats right all, I found myself at the doctor Monday night getting eye drops because of PINK eye. Pink pretty right? In your eye not so much, I blame the work stress.

Alright I am out, back to the thing they call work. Miss you all!

Oh yeah T-minus 7 days until I celebrate the 4th anniversary of my 25th B-day! Yea!!!

Tooodddooollloooo 2009.

Peace out, no looking back.

Christmas was fantastic, my parents had a very full house this year. M's brother was up this year since he now lives in southern California and was not going to fly back to NY.  Of course the sisters, M and the sister's fiance and her dog. Poor Layla (the dog) still has bars in her leg from her surgery. All she wants to do is play and she cannot. Hopefully next Christmas will involve me having a house and a puppy.

New Years was spent at a friends house. M and I have never had a great new years 3 years ago there was a skydiving accident and he lost a good friend (Tommy D - R.I.P). Last year we were apart because we were supposed to be in NY together but I never made it out to NY the day after Christmas due to the passing of my Pa. This year we were actually together and had a great time.  I never got a picture with M but here are two great ones of me with the IronMan couple who M and I will be standing next to at their wedding in July.

Thats me and the to be groom mugging the camera, and also me and the soon to be bride. Seriously they are going to have the tallest kids ever! I mean I am a little short but I believe at 5'4" I am an "average" height. Ok well yes they are tall and I am short, oh well. I cannot wait for their wedding as these two have become such great friends to M and I.

Well here is to 2010! A year that is going to be very busy with many things to come.

Boiled over

I am feeling a little boiled over, not mad but overwhelmed.  I have been sick (including leaving work early today) more times this year than all the years combined since the day I left college. I honestly believe it could be my body telling me to slow down and try to stop stressing. This year I have had a plate full, not necessarily bad just too much.

Work (thank goodness I still have a job) but with layoffs my work load doubled, literally. We laid someone off and I now do both our jobs.

House Hunting, for some reason I decided now was the time to try to find my own piece of something.

CPA, seriously will I ever pass you?!?

Wedding, not that I am not excited and love M, but really, is now the time to try to plan this thing?

Sorry for the lack of me around here and no beautiful shoes around these parts, just trying to get through the rest of the year, no more crazy stuff added to my plate please?

I cannot stop

Shopping that is. I seriously have issues when it comes to buying gifts for people.  Just finished of the last piece for the sister and brother/sister-in-law while on my conference call.  While looking for a personalized "tavern" sign for my brother I came across this:
(via)
I found it on Etsy at SportsFanCraftsman. Now I think wow I finished M shopping a long long time ago but something like this for him? I do not know.  I have spent way over budget already (remember the whole saving money trying to pay for a wedding and buy a house thing?) But this just seems too perfect and his birthday is not until September, well I saved it to my favories for the time being but who knows it might just end up purchased and hidden away for when we actually have a house, only if it does not end up in my living (yes I said MY).

So You all read the other day was just plain blah. I think my anxiety is starting to get the best of me, there is a ton going on right now and it is starting to catch up and make my head a big mush pot. So this weekend I decided that I would skip out on my friends white trash party and take some time for me (M will be at the dropzone alllll weekend). So I am going to catch up on stuff for my sisters bridal shower/bachelorette, sleep and spend some time with Mama. Hopefully after that things will start to sort themselves out in my head.

In better news M surprised me last night by making a pit stop at WalMart and picking up The Hangover. Seriously my favorite comedy of all time! I love this movie and put me to bed last night on a better note. If you want a good laugh this will definitely provide it for you.  Anyone else out there?  Alright this is long enough till next time...

Weekend Warriors

So this weekend M and I ran all over the North Bay this weekend, from Napa to Rohnert Park and onto Sonoma. From all over the North Bay to the Livermore Valley on Sunday. Ugh wedding venues, not really sure if we are really ready to drop that kind of cash on a one day event. I did find where we would do a dream wedding if we could:

Absolutely gorgeous property and perfect in every way. At the heart of Sonoma. I only wish that we could afford it. So gorgeous. But the search goes on to find something within our budget that we like.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone's sunshine.

Happiest place on earth

So I do not know if I had told you guys that while I was down in Florida for my brother's wedding that we took an extra couple days for Disney World. I had never been and it has been 20 years since I was last at Disneyland so it was kind of a kick to be there.  We did the 5 day pass with the park hopper (which was totally worth it). Military families hurry rush serious discount available through the end of the year.

Here we are at the start of our Day at Epcot.  Pretty sure the boys were 2 deep already, they were playing the beer in every country game.  Epcot was awesome, I wish we had more time in Florida so that we did not have to rush through.

Seriously how white can my legs get, the match my shorts.

So my favorite "Country" was France, I mean really champagne in a theme park? My Dad and I doing what I do best, drinking bubbles. This was the first time I had Moet & Chandon Imperial, it was delicious. Loved it, way outdoes the White Star. While in France we not only had Champagne/wine/beer we also grabbed pastries from the Cafe and sat down and enjoyed ourselves for awhile. After France guess where my Dad ended up. Well not really but he sped ahead of us at some point and we found him here.

We continued the day and made it through the rest of the countries. Of course we stopped off in the homeland, Norway. Marcel thought that he would "fight off" the troll and save me, while I was obviously just chillen with him. We of course rode all the rides we could get on, Splash Mountain, Aerosmith, Tower of Terror, Pirates of the Carribean. Love the fast passes!

Me goofing around when we didn't have them. I seriously have the worst patience in the entire world. Thank goodness for my phone and games, although M was not to happy about that but hey its that or a very unhappy Kirsten and that is just not good for anyone.

Well that pretty much was the trip. We had an amazing time and so glad I made the visit to Disney World.  Probably will not be back until I have kids one day, and they will be at a walking age because I am not going to play bumper cars with the rest of the strollers (thousands upon millions) and the all the adults in their powered wheel chairs (probably the same amount of strollers).

My new sister

So as you all know I was off in the south this past week for my big brothers wedding. It was beautiful, and so much fun was to be had. Here is my brother and new sister taking their vows.

The weekend started off on the right foot, I pushed the button on the filing on Friday and off to the airport I went.  I met up with my sisters, their significant others and M at the airport and we headed to the bar for a beer while we waited, hit up the bar, check.

M and I got upgraded to first which was a fantastic way to fly a red eye, he drank and I slept like a baby in my nice big comfy chair. Saturday night we headed over the the rehearsal dinner which was beer and wings, delicious.

Sunday was wedding day, I love weddings that I get to go to and do not have to be part of, I get to thoroughly enjoy them.  The sisters and I at cocktail hour. Yes I am the shortest, but the photo is also crooked, (I think this was after M has a couple drinks). I love that I have them and that they are my best friends.  This of course after years of wanting to strangle them and somehow make them disappear.

We are next next.  Not next since the middle sister is next, but next next.  To wrap up the night we of course watched the cake cutting and danced the rest of the night away.

in the clouds

Good afternoon. So only three days after the propsal and us saying "house first then wedding plans" I have spent most of today exploring various wedding sites.  Ahhh help me I am so addicted to looking at them and cannot help myself. I have come across a fabulous sites that have great shots of weddings.  A few are:
  1. Jennifer Skog Photography
  2. Green Wedding Shoes
  3. The Directory of the Best Wedding Blogs
All of these are awesome and provide such a range of ideas. But there I go again jumping ahead of myself.  House first then wedding, then again why wouldn't I want to look at all the fun ideas.

So they story from Saturday goes... M and I were going up to Robert Young Winery for the club member ranch day along with my parents (who are also members) and my sister and her significant other as well, this had been planned by me for some time now. Well last week M told me that his Dad was flying out to see his brother and was going to stop up in northern CA first and his brother was going to come up for the weekend too. Ok so I guess we are all going then. Of course since I had planned the day I was none the wiser.

To make a long story short, he snuck us off with the owners approval by having the tractor guy give us a ride through the vineyards, that is where he proposed. Here is us arriving back from the tractor (I had no idea the arch was behind us).

And probably one of my favorite photos to this day.

Reflection

So 8 years ago today our U.S. history books added another major incident to the pages.  Since then lifes have changed and been lost. A big thanks to the U.S. troops serving overseas, you are greatly appreciated and are forever in my thougthts.  Ok I got that out of my system but now it is time to reflect on the positive, the blueBerryman wedding weekend extravaganza.

The weekend started off on Friday night when M and I got down to Monterey.  We decided on Hula's for dinner and had one very tall refreshing drink. I had a hurricane and M had what would have been
a scorpion bowl, had it been in a bowl and big enough for 4 people. After these drinks (and the beers we had before dinner) we were feeling mightly fine! We then moved on to the hotel bar for some more delicious drinks by our fav bartender there Jenny from the block.

See the box there at the bottom, that is a big box of teacake bakeshop. Deliciousness!! After the cupcakes and the sugar filled drinks M decided to do a photoshot of me. Of course me being the always serious person I am he got these.

Ah la supermodel and my classic cross-eyed tongue out posse. Funny thing discovered by a coworker a few years back, only one of my eyes goes cross eyed, the other just stays straight. I know you were dying to know that information.

The wedding itself was Saturday held at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa. All I can say is awesomeness! Gorgeous backround of the bay and it was an absolutely perfect day weather wise. Of course I got to wear my amazing Manolos (sequined, peep toe, mary-jane). Love me some shoes!
Also if you are looking for a place to eat in Monterey we loved the Trailside Cafe for breakfast two days in a row. Their blueberry pancakes were amazing, so was the breakfast burrito (perfect hangover cure). Just dont go in the bathroom, there's a jungle cat in the bathroom.
We ended the weekend with a little aquirium visit so we got to see the seahorse exhibit as well as the new great white shark, those things are scary, the black eyes freak me out. I couldn't ask for a better weekend, great weather and good friends.

M and I, Montery 2009

Tomorrow we are headed up to Alexander Valley for Robert Young Ranch day. cannot wait to taste the Burnpile cabernet, I have been waiting all year for it.  So cheerio my boos hope you have a fantastic fun filled weekend!
