Motivation

Oh how I lack thee. I could easily get pictures up of things that were accomplished this weekend, like picking out couches, getting picture/poster frames or even the bed frame that is up and oh so wonderful, but apparently I used up all movitivation this weekend getting those things done because there is a serious lack of motivation to do anything right now. Work, gym, blogging, hanging up the now framed pictures, laundry that needs to be folded (since that was done this weekend too).

Help!!! I seriously need some, I need to get to the gym (my little sister's wedding is in 2.5 weeks), work needs to be done due to Q1 reporting sitting directly in front of me. Ugh I seriously need some of this (images via google images):

With this:
Oh weekend where are you, except that I will be out of town for the sisters bachlorette. Oh I give in.

Its finally Friday

Oh I love Friday's and due to loving Fridays I am going to participate with my blog crush Summer on her It's Friday, I'm in love Series.

The It's Friday, I'm In Love Series

Holidays in San Francisco - Maybe the fact that only something like 35% of people in San Francisco is native, but the city knows how to do holidays. One of my favorites, the big wheel race on Easter Sunday, such a good time!
New Bed Frame - Our new bed frame arrives tomorrow! Finally, we ordered it about 2 months ago from Room & Board and it is going to be here tomorrow morning!

National Corn Dog Day - Seriously really, I wish I liked corn dogs because they are having PBR specials all day with it!

Oh Friday night come faster....

Luck of ye ol Irish

Who else is excited for tomorrow?! St. Patricks Day!! Ahhh I love holidays that call for drinking beer. So I am not a big person to wear green so while sitting on my butt tonight I painted my nails green. Yeah I guess I am showing off my ring a little bit there too. But there is my green and cheers to tomorrow. I will be absent tomorrow due to the celebrations requiring some beer so have a great hump day!

It's alive!

That would be me. Well at least for the short period between the end of year end and the beginning of Q1. So today at work, major brain freeze and I spent the day reacquainting   myself with all the lovely bloggers I follow since last week sucked my butt. And guess what Wednesday cannot come soon enough! We are leaving the office about 11:30 for lunch and then you better believe you will find my co-workers and I here:
Yep we will be on Front Street in "front" of Harrington's and the Royal Exchange drinking plenty of my favorites. It probably will be my favorite work day ever! So if you need me on Wednesday you will find me at the corner of Front and Sacramento in SF, anyone in the area come on down! And see if you can find me, if not we could of moved along to the Irish Bank since my boss has a hard time staying in one place once he starts drinking. Oh and since our favorite Miller Lite lover is abstaining from beer, I will make sure I drink her share. Cheers to St. Patrick's Day!

Task 2 of 1,000,000

So excited. Seriously check out their website, beautiful.

Newest happy cow.

Hey everyone did you hear I am the new Happy Cow? You can check out my other blog here.

Alright obviously I am just kidding but I got a voice mail from my Dad last night that I kinda thought he was drunk but turned out he was calling me to tell me I was a cow. Well in more words and not so much telling me other than the commercial but me Dad has a way with words.  My favorite quote of my Dad's to me "You better hurry up and be kid ready your drying up".  Really Dad?!?! Well I am off to run errands. The Room and Board guys were here right at 10:30 and were awesome! Highly recommend them just due to their customer service.

Hope everyones Saturday is everything they want!

Party time, excellent

Oh thank goodness for Fridays (even though I have to work this weekend, at least it is at home).

M got back last night from his trip and apparently will not be heading out on anymore, I would not be surprised if that changes come Monday. So he took today off and guess what he is doing, yep jumping out of the plane. I found this picture picture on Bay Area Skydiving's photo gallery.  See those yellow legs and orange shirt. Thats my boy jumping to his life content.

So he is back from Texarkana and tomorrow morning.  I am getting me some of these. Hello luvr, delish!

(image via google images)

It probably has something to do with the fact that the word cake is in them but pancakes I could eat breakfast lunch and dinner, with a side of hash browns. I cannot wait for tomorrow!

Also happening tomorrow, our bedstands are arriving! Between 10:30 and 12:30 tomorrow I will be patiently waiting for the truck from Room and Board to arrive with our bed stands. We still have to wait on the bed frame, but it is supposed to be here by the end of the month.

Saturday night, a friends b-day watching some Diamond Dave. Who is he you ask? Just the most super cool dude ever. Seriously check out his website, I am thinking, hmmmm maybe wedding material?

Well hope everyones weekend is lovely. I will be here till the CFO decides he is finally done with what he needs to give me and then I can start my work. Booooo

Really?

Can I ask all you students out there, how does this help your cause?
(source: sfgate.com)
Trust me I get it, I was a student once too. But shutting down a major Bay Area freeway, not cool. I get it, I am sympathetic, my sister is a third year teacher and losing her job, but when you become stupid. Hey buddy there in handcuffs, guess what? the budget for your tuition, walking right next to you in riot gear. After living in the city for a number of years and working here, I have a distaste for rioters, between listening to them while I am working or not being able to take the bus home because of hundreds of peoples on their bikes. No I don't agree with you I am taking public transit, "being green" and stuck, yah thanks so much.

Alright, thats done, moving along now that all the streets and freeways in the Bay Area are now free from people...

Oh love

Ahhhh just came across this. Yum, cannot wait to leave work to go home to it.

Chalk it up

It is finally done! My black board wall is completed and working well.

Before I go there though, all I can say is thank goodness last week is over! I still have our 10-K that still is to be done but our LLC report went out on Friday and  the sisters bridal shower was Saturday! So two things causing me stress are finally out the door. The bridal shower went well, I had 30 women in my house, we were a little restricted to the house since the weather well... did not work with us on Saturday. Sunday was perfect! I sat on the couch and that is where I resided all day. Ok so you guys want to know about the wall?

Here is the wall before. Oh yes the whole kitchen is that awful I think I used to be an ivory wall but now I kinda look yellow. Another project to get through.  So the wall is texturized and you need a flat wall to paint the chalk board paint on so I had to sand it down. Totally reccommend an electric sander if you have one considering my shoulders still do not feel so hot. So sanding away and then once done make sure you wash down the wall to get all dust off.

Here is the paint that I used (all images me, except this one from google images). The wall needed two coats to stay warm in my kitchen since the oven doesn't get turned on to much.
Check it out, this was my bubble. I seriously spent more time putting "the bubble" up than it would of been for me to clean up but cleaning, not my bag of chips. So it took me an hour to put this up and tape and I still had to clean up after. Okay enough is enough (well maybe I just want to go to sleep, actually I want to watch K. Kardashian poo out her baby). So here it is!
I found the silver magnet strip at the container store and thought it might be a fun addition. The 1 year 3  months, that was for M since he has been out of town for 3 weeks and I thought he might need a reminder that I am here waiting for him. Oh yeah the clean up (i.e. making the lines straight come once he gets home to take the cabinet doors down).

Toodles loves!

2.22.2010

Two left feet

Ok seriously something is wrong with me, the second M goes out of town for a long period I turn into Miss Spastic. Couple months ago he was in China for 3 weeks and I threw out my back and crashed my car into a pole. I also broke two wine glasses over the course of him being gone.

Well now M is off in Texarkana for 3 weeks this go around and since he left a week ago I cut open my elbow and had a cutting board come off the top shelf and smack me in the face. Seriously my face hurts. I kinda wonder what is next. It is bad, this is actually to a point that M worries about leaving me cause he is worried what will happen, we just will not tell him that I had the sewing machine out tonight. At least  my fingers are not sewn together ;)

Hope everyone's Monday went well. I am hoping to finish the painting of the blackboard wall tomorrow night (that is IF  I get out of work earlier than 9 pm tomorrow night). Night y'all!

Martha with a twist

So you all heard that I went camping this past weekend. Yes this lady who loves her Louboutins put on my hiking shoes and zipper pants (they can be either shorts or pants), not really my choice for everyday style but you have to wear something right? So we backpacked 5.5 miles in Saturday afternoon, seriously blame it on love. Check out my backpack, so hot right? Well M totally thought so. It was nice though because well he carried everything heavy. Including all the wine ;).  Hey I have to get through the night somehow.

That us, "getting through" the weekend with our red cups, I think I will always have an affection for those cups, they have such great meaning behind them!
So I made it through the 24 hours in the wilderness, we hiked back to the car and proceeded to the nearest brewrey (I heart beer). Once we returned home it was immediatly to the shower. I LURRVVVEEE showers. Like I would take an hour long shower everyday if I could. Hope everyone's week is winding up and you are ready for the weekend! I have a bunch of tasks on my list for the weekend, including finishing the napkins for my sister's bridal shower, finish up my chalkboard wall, testing out some baked goods, and getting more boxes taken care of. Happy weekending!

M and I on the hike out, look at me, I am a whitey.

2.17.2010

Just call me Martha

So this whole wedding thing (mine, friends and sisters) and the new house have me channeling my inner Martha. Last night I started sanding down the wall in the kitchen  to remove the texture for the chalk board wall and today I have the reminents in my nose. Note to self go buy a mask before I finish sanding.

Sunday night was sewing night. I saw an idea about sewing napkins for weddings and what not so I decided to take on the project for my sister's bridal shower. So here I am sewing away. Notice the machine, it is my Mom's and that thing is older than me. I know right, how is something older than my old self? I got through about 20 napkins and the lines, not so straight, oh well, its the thought right?

I am actually excited about the bridal shower because it will be the first time that I have had a party at my house. We have been too busy for a house warming party and now M is gone for 3 weeks for work, then he gets back and I am in crunch time for work. We will get there and you better believe there will be beer and probably a little beirut.

Hope everyones short week is going well.

V-Day

Remember this? Well my package came this week and woopppyyyy dooo! Someone loves me!

When this was on my doorstep when I got home from work I was so excited! Love mail that is not bills! So I opened up my package and yummy!
Barefoot Contessa red velvet cupcake mix (which I have been wanting to try just have not bought it yet) silicon heart baking cupcakes, a heart cookie cuter, chocolates "green" paper baking cups. So excited to use it!

I other news, I went camping this weekend. One night only as well camping not quite my thing. But M lovesssss it! So we backpacked in and did one night with some good friends. But more of that later. I am off to Michaels to frame my Christmas present so that we can get it hung up on the wall and M and I will be headed to Home Depot later so we can get my chalk board wall painted, yea! Have a great Presidents/Mayra Day!

Down with the sickness

Seriously! Sick again. Well folks I have been down and out all weekend. I did not even get to do a celebration dance for dear Summer, cause well I was sleeepingg.  And well my ears STILL will not pop. Please oh please oh pop. So while I get better I will be a little absent minded around here, who am I kidding though I am always absent minded. Toddles

The house!

We  I found it! I found my camera cord. Although apparently we took very few photos before we started changing things up. There are also the pictures pre the old owners moving out and those where we have started the projects.  This one is the old owners "baby room", well those who have been reading that is NOT what I wanted for my birthday this year. See the color? The chair rail? We vetoed those before we even moved in.
Here is the room as the process started. The chair rail gone and the painting getting ready to go.
Our least favorite paint job had to be the kitchen. Country kitsch anyone?

Yeah blue walls blue counters, ugh. now I do not have a before before. So this is AFTER we took the chair rail off in the kitchen, it was like they tried to match the chair rail to the cabinets but did it really poorly, I mean I could pull off the base boards and chair rail with my hand? Really? So country kitsch no more (well the blue counters are still there but one day they will be replaced) and I am actually looking for a zebra print rug that can fit into space that is not shown here.

We still have another month before our bedroom furniture comes in :( but at least things are cleaning up a little. Finally the baseboards were put in the kitchen last night! woop woop, now they just have to be painted, but things are coming together and looking a little better. My focus get it together so we can have a housewarming party wooohoooo, who is in? Home brew, some of my uncles award winning wines. Yep my Uncle is the Assistant wine Master at Schug and the Best of Class, thats his! woop woop!!! Alright well this is getting long and I need to start my birthday!!! Woooohooooo 8:36 a.m tomorrow and I am 29, yikes, I am getting old.

February!

It's here!! Cheers to Bananas and me! I have a feeling she might have some issues because its my birthday month too, but you know what mine is FIRST! yahahaha. Two days and its birthday anniversary time! I went a little overboard this weekend with the shopping cause M told me I wasn't getting any presents :( Booooo to him. I guess in his defense we did just buy a house and bedroom furniture and a new mattress (bowchickawowa). But still a girl only has a birthday once a year!

In good news this weekend I think I found my camera cord! Well I found the box this weekend which means I still have not looked in it to determine the cord is in there. Maybe tonight I will get there. The baseboards for the kitchen/eating area are showing up tonight so hopefully those will be in this weekend and the "construction" part will be done.

Oh I am also taking inspiration from Mayra's bag studding and going to stud up my new converse (yes I love my all-stars). Now if I could just finish the other DIY tasks I have at hand. I also went and bought myself a cricut. I hope I actually use it...

Firefighting

So this was me yesterday.  I was fighting fires all morning (of course not in the literal sense) but yesterday morning was quite a morning at work. I then got home and took care of two more boxes and got them up off the kitchen floor and two loads of laundry done so that we can almost see our bedroom floor.

It is starting to look a little more like home and less of a storage facility, although the garage, well we have a longggg way to go with that. Currently wandering around on amazon, etsy and so forth for little decorating ideas. We found a bed frame and one bedside table (I do not want to match them) at Room & Board. If you like the simplistic, clean lines, no frill this place is awesome! M spent last night under the house doing some minor fixing to our HVAC since the seller gave us the money in our closing costs instead of fixing it, whatever M likes those projects.

Oh we also set a date! June 3, 2011, I will become a Mrs. and M and I will be throwing probably our biggest party we will ever have (not a large wedding, 100 peeps, but a great big party for us!).

I am also feeling a bit of beautiful KLaw's pain, although mine came in the form of Conjunctivitis, thats right all, I found myself at the doctor Monday night getting eye drops because of PINK eye. Pink pretty right? In your eye not so much, I blame the work stress.

Alright I am out, back to the thing they call work. Miss you all!

Oh yeah T-minus 7 days until I celebrate the 4th anniversary of my 25th B-day! Yea!!!

Still settling in

So the internet is up and working, as far as everything being put away it is FAARRRRR from there. The garage is still full of boxes, or garbage cans have not arrived so well it is also full of the beer bottles from Saturday night. Yea, we were those people, Saturday we move Saturday night our house was full of people drinking beer. So much fun.

So we technically moved in Saturday and we are still sorting through boxes and every morning our closet is pretty much the garage. It sucks, nothing can be worse for my anxiety than boxes everywhere and things not having a home.  There is still stuff at the old place and on top of it all I am working like crazy right now and lets just say that at this point of the night and just getting home I MUCH rather be here on blogger than actually doing something. Oh and M and I set a date this past week, June 3, 2011 I will become his wife.  Yep it is a long time away but right now, we kind of have a lot going on.

Ok ok enough of that I should probably get moving along, I swear pictures to come, now if I could just find the cord for my camera... Miss all you lovelies!

Tooodddooollloooo 2009.

Peace out, no looking back.

Christmas was fantastic, my parents had a very full house this year. M's brother was up this year since he now lives in southern California and was not going to fly back to NY.  Of course the sisters, M and the sister's fiance and her dog. Poor Layla (the dog) still has bars in her leg from her surgery. All she wants to do is play and she cannot. Hopefully next Christmas will involve me having a house and a puppy.

New Years was spent at a friends house. M and I have never had a great new years 3 years ago there was a skydiving accident and he lost a good friend (Tommy D - R.I.P). Last year we were apart because we were supposed to be in NY together but I never made it out to NY the day after Christmas due to the passing of my Pa. This year we were actually together and had a great time.  I never got a picture with M but here are two great ones of me with the IronMan couple who M and I will be standing next to at their wedding in July.

Thats me and the to be groom mugging the camera, and also me and the soon to be bride. Seriously they are going to have the tallest kids ever! I mean I am a little short but I believe at 5'4" I am an "average" height. Ok well yes they are tall and I am short, oh well. I cannot wait for their wedding as these two have become such great friends to M and I.

Well here is to 2010! A year that is going to be very busy with many things to come.
