I was really really hoping to go check out some of these beauties this weekend.

But as fate would have it I have not heard back from the breeder since our orginal conversation. So the search continues.  And I know I can go to the animal shelter and pick a loving dog up there but I have ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted a golden and have only ever had rescues. And let me tell you they have their own set of issues. Everyday I just wish I would be coming home to the wagging tail of a golden, they love you and have such an amazing happy personality. I cannot wait until I finally find one!

Moving on... I cannot believe the day is not over!?!? I so badly just want to go home, and I am pretty sure all of my co-workers are in the same boat, considering we all have the same glossed over look in our eyes staring at our computers. Yep the boss does too (they have window walls which is fun when I watch him fall asleep at his desk the day after happy hour days. Oh to be at home. Pretty soon and I have cases of wine just waiting for me in the garage. MMMM, the winery my Uncle is a winemaker at had a friends and family discount of 70%... wooooowee you better believe I took advantage! Alright friends, heres to a long weekend!

The house!

We  I found it! I found my camera cord. Although apparently we took very few photos before we started changing things up. There are also the pictures pre the old owners moving out and those where we have started the projects.  This one is the old owners "baby room", well those who have been reading that is NOT what I wanted for my birthday this year. See the color? The chair rail? We vetoed those before we even moved in.
Here is the room as the process started. The chair rail gone and the painting getting ready to go.
Our least favorite paint job had to be the kitchen. Country kitsch anyone?

Yeah blue walls blue counters, ugh. now I do not have a before before. So this is AFTER we took the chair rail off in the kitchen, it was like they tried to match the chair rail to the cabinets but did it really poorly, I mean I could pull off the base boards and chair rail with my hand? Really? So country kitsch no more (well the blue counters are still there but one day they will be replaced) and I am actually looking for a zebra print rug that can fit into space that is not shown here.

We still have another month before our bedroom furniture comes in :( but at least things are cleaning up a little. Finally the baseboards were put in the kitchen last night! woop woop, now they just have to be painted, but things are coming together and looking a little better. My focus get it together so we can have a housewarming party wooohoooo, who is in? Home brew, some of my uncles award winning wines. Yep my Uncle is the Assistant wine Master at Schug and the Best of Class, thats his! woop woop!!! Alright well this is getting long and I need to start my birthday!!! Woooohooooo 8:36 a.m tomorrow and I am 29, yikes, I am getting old.

in the clouds

Good afternoon. So only three days after the propsal and us saying "house first then wedding plans" I have spent most of today exploring various wedding sites.  Ahhh help me I am so addicted to looking at them and cannot help myself. I have come across a fabulous sites that have great shots of weddings.  A few are:
  1. Jennifer Skog Photography
  2. Green Wedding Shoes
  3. The Directory of the Best Wedding Blogs
All of these are awesome and provide such a range of ideas. But there I go again jumping ahead of myself.  House first then wedding, then again why wouldn't I want to look at all the fun ideas.

So they story from Saturday goes... M and I were going up to Robert Young Winery for the club member ranch day along with my parents (who are also members) and my sister and her significant other as well, this had been planned by me for some time now. Well last week M told me that his Dad was flying out to see his brother and was going to stop up in northern CA first and his brother was going to come up for the weekend too. Ok so I guess we are all going then. Of course since I had planned the day I was none the wiser.

To make a long story short, he snuck us off with the owners approval by having the tractor guy give us a ride through the vineyards, that is where he proposed. Here is us arriving back from the tractor (I had no idea the arch was behind us).

And probably one of my favorite photos to this day.
