A girls other best friend

So I have been craving some really good Norwegian chocolate and cannot for the life of me find what I am looking for. There is just something about really great creamy Norwegian chocolate. So I settled for some swiss chocolate from Teuscher. Well what I did not know prior to going in is that their house specialty is Champagne Truffles

Well of course I love me some bubbly so I had to try them, OMG!! So good, and then the guy tells me that they are made with Dom Perignon. WHAT?!?! No wonder they were like $3.50 a truffle. I started to think since it was the work day and all, how many could I eat until it would feel as if I had been drinking Dom? Probably after I got sick from eating to many. Well after my trip and $20 later I got back to the office with this:

2 champagne truffles
1 coffee chocolate
1 milk chocolate with praline
1 chocolate with chili pepper
1 mint chocolate

And of course I sat at had a try of all of them

Favorites: obviously the truffle and also the praline

Uggghhh, I am having serious candy cravings this week.

I never..

Remember that game from college where you all sit in the group and go in the circle and note something you have never done and those who have drink. Wow its been awhile and I am pretty sure I would be drinking a lot more these days then I would have in college, but then again isn't that what life brings you?

Anyways the real I never is I never want to move again, either that or I plan on hiring movers. This weekend was dreadful, a 100 degree weekend and we had to move. Yuck! Currently we cannot move through the living room because it is full of crap.  M and I are starting to go through things that are doubled up and we (being me) has decided that we are going to donate some his old sheets and towels that have holes in them. So this Saturday I am going to take a trip to the pound to donate all the old stuff (if you have old towels or sheets, pillow cases, etc. take the to your local animal shelter they can always use them). M told me I couldn't come home with a new friend though :(

I do wish this was the last move but it isn't, hopefully soon we will find a house and that will be the last move for sometime. The positive, a walk in closet, LOVE!

More to come as it was Oktoberfest this weekend and a friends barbque and plenty of this:

Hopefully I will return to normal internet usage soon, I hate not having an internet connection at home.

Holy moly he is a big baby

So I read SFGate everyday and today I came across this:

The baby on the left is your "average" size newborn and well on the right is a BIG baby. What was the women eating? The baby was 19.2 pounds and 24.4 inches, maybe I should start eating organically?

Wishing for...

A new pair of Louboutins. I am currently coveting many of the finest by CL, always droolworthy.

Loving all things platform right now and these Biancas scream out to me, buy me buy me!

The ever classic grey (also the classic CL pump, Simple), can be used for anything a black one would, plus so much more! although I would definitely want them in the 100 mm and not 85.

The second these come in a red or purple satin, I will be all over them.

And these pony hair just make me want to scream...

All pictures came from saks.com or barneys.com (shoes are also available there)

All of the shoes above make me want to go back to my credit card abusing irresponsible hayday. If I won the lottery you ladies would know exactly where to find me.

By the way I am totally excited,. over the last couple days I had two more new boos. Miss Unbeweavable and Mrs. KLaw I am so excited because I have been following these lovely ladies for awhile and are awesome! Thanks ladies for being my boos.

Heaven in a paper wrapper

So I came into work this morning thinking it was going to be your average Tuesday, well it was not. My co-worker called me over to his desk and thinking it was something work related I started the "walk" mind you its like 10 steps over there.  As I walk up to his desk I see this pink box sitting on his desk. I kinda went a little crazy (I literally started jumping up and down saying oh my gosh) so I provided a little early morning entertainment.

So what was it?  A coconut cupcake from Kara's cupcakes. My absolute fav!!!! So I ate it for breakfast, so so so good. I miss living in the city, everday there is something that reminds me of everything I loved so much about city living and Kara's is one of them. Hopefully once I have the house of my own that little tinge of pain that strikes of all the greatness of the city will go away. I mean really how many people can say they rode the worlds only moving historical landmark to work everyday, not many and I used to be one. Ahhhh San Francisco..

Uggghhhhh packing

Little secret to the blogger world, although not so much a secret since anyone who knows me knows it already... I HATE packing, detest it, cannot stand it. Over the last 5 years I have moved 5 times, this makes 6, oh I also hate packing for vacation and usually enlist in a little bubbly to get me through. And since M and I are still looking for a home to buy hopefully we will moving again soon, but that will be the last time for quite awhile.

Right now this is what is sitting in front of me

Thank goodness for Gossip Girl and procrastination, if it were not for trying to get over being sick I would definitely have a glass of this deliciousness... mmmm.

I better be healthy for Oktoberfest this weekend. Beer and bubbles I miss you so.

Sick and tired, sick and tired of being sick

So it has been two weeks, two weekends and three sick days from work and I am still down and out. What the efff? So the sick sick part is gone but I still have really low energy. I hate this, trying to go to the gym and all I can think about is laying down.

So we did go look at houses this morning (blah tired of doing that too and still sad that we got beat out on a house we really wanted). After looking at the houses M went out to the dropzone to et a few more jumps in this weekend and this is what I have done the rest of the day.  We had the air mattress blown up for his brother this weekend and I dragged it downstairs and have plopped myself in front of the tv the rest of the day.  All I have wanted to do is fall asleep and it seems that was the last thing I could do.

As for the rest of the weekend it went pretty well, my sisters and I helped mommasita find a dress for the big brothers wedding in November.  My parents defnitely have their plate full with weddings, big brother in November, little sister in April and well me is TBD but it is on the horizon now.

Hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend, next weekend is Clayton Oktoberfest, yes it is still September but I cannot wait.  Clayton Oktoberfest is my absolute favorite, beer and bratwurst. I cannot wait!! Have a great relaxing Sunday night.

Hi-ho hi-ho

It is back to work I go.

I took another day off yesterday because I have not been able to feel better. So I took another day and slept till noon! The last time I slept till noon it was because I had a little to much fun the night before (ooopsie).

So today I decided to dress the part of a healthy person and dressed in a dress with of course good shoes. For anyone in the Bay Area who loves shoes Footcandy is the place to be.  I discovered them awhile ago, and fell in love.  The great part is the owners also own a winery, wine and shoes, WHAT?

So the other great thing is that Carolyn Butler (owner) started working with designers to create a special shoe to benefit Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation.  To my knowledge Casadei was the first designer to work with Footcandy to design a shoe, since I have seen Manolo and Christian Louboutin designs as well. Well when I saw the cute pair by Casadei and that they benefited elephants I thought why not? Well here they are. The shoe is a peep toe, patent leather, with the RED heel! I love.

I was wandering over at saks.com today and help I think I have found what is NEEDED for fall. Feist your eyes on these my pretties the Christian Louboutin Platform Ankle Boots.  YUM is all I can say, do you think I could use the excuse of being depressed about not having our offer excepted on the house to run out and buy these?

What do you gals think? A reason for splurge??

in the clouds

Good afternoon. So only three days after the propsal and us saying "house first then wedding plans" I have spent most of today exploring various wedding sites.  Ahhh help me I am so addicted to looking at them and cannot help myself. I have come across a fabulous sites that have great shots of weddings.  A few are:
  1. Jennifer Skog Photography
  2. Green Wedding Shoes
  3. The Directory of the Best Wedding Blogs
All of these are awesome and provide such a range of ideas. But there I go again jumping ahead of myself.  House first then wedding, then again why wouldn't I want to look at all the fun ideas.

So they story from Saturday goes... M and I were going up to Robert Young Winery for the club member ranch day along with my parents (who are also members) and my sister and her significant other as well, this had been planned by me for some time now. Well last week M told me that his Dad was flying out to see his brother and was going to stop up in northern CA first and his brother was going to come up for the weekend too. Ok so I guess we are all going then. Of course since I had planned the day I was none the wiser.

To make a long story short, he snuck us off with the owners approval by having the tractor guy give us a ride through the vineyards, that is where he proposed. Here is us arriving back from the tractor (I had no idea the arch was behind us).

And probably one of my favorite photos to this day.

Reflection

So 8 years ago today our U.S. history books added another major incident to the pages.  Since then lifes have changed and been lost. A big thanks to the U.S. troops serving overseas, you are greatly appreciated and are forever in my thougthts.  Ok I got that out of my system but now it is time to reflect on the positive, the blueBerryman wedding weekend extravaganza.

The weekend started off on Friday night when M and I got down to Monterey.  We decided on Hula's for dinner and had one very tall refreshing drink. I had a hurricane and M had what would have been
a scorpion bowl, had it been in a bowl and big enough for 4 people. After these drinks (and the beers we had before dinner) we were feeling mightly fine! We then moved on to the hotel bar for some more delicious drinks by our fav bartender there Jenny from the block.

See the box there at the bottom, that is a big box of teacake bakeshop. Deliciousness!! After the cupcakes and the sugar filled drinks M decided to do a photoshot of me. Of course me being the always serious person I am he got these.

Ah la supermodel and my classic cross-eyed tongue out posse. Funny thing discovered by a coworker a few years back, only one of my eyes goes cross eyed, the other just stays straight. I know you were dying to know that information.

The wedding itself was Saturday held at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa. All I can say is awesomeness! Gorgeous backround of the bay and it was an absolutely perfect day weather wise. Of course I got to wear my amazing Manolos (sequined, peep toe, mary-jane). Love me some shoes!
Also if you are looking for a place to eat in Monterey we loved the Trailside Cafe for breakfast two days in a row. Their blueberry pancakes were amazing, so was the breakfast burrito (perfect hangover cure). Just dont go in the bathroom, there's a jungle cat in the bathroom.
We ended the weekend with a little aquirium visit so we got to see the seahorse exhibit as well as the new great white shark, those things are scary, the black eyes freak me out. I couldn't ask for a better weekend, great weather and good friends.

M and I, Montery 2009

Tomorrow we are headed up to Alexander Valley for Robert Young Ranch day. cannot wait to taste the Burnpile cabernet, I have been waiting all year for it.  So cheerio my boos hope you have a fantastic fun filled weekend!

Sick you are not my friend

I HATE being sick, but I think my awesome weekend in Monterey, house hunting, work, CPA exam and finding a place that we can rent on a month to month basis has finally caught up with me.

So Monterey pictures still to come but I think it is time for me to get more sleep... nighty afternoon boos.

Penny She Wrote

Back from an awesome weekend in Monterey with awesome friends for the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. blueBerryman. A little peak of what the weekend was like. Thats me, writing P-E-N-N-Y, well I did the P-E-N part until the pen was taken away.  I mean come on it was the end of the night what would you expect? By the way yes that would be a piece of rock candy AND a beer in the same hand.

By the way this is the boy I love with my pashimina and Zac envelope clutch. He too had a few, more pictures to come! Happy Monday, oh wait it is Tuesday already! Yea for short weeks.

Exciting Thursday

Thank goodness for it being Thursday and being able to head out of town tomorrow. I totally agree with Myra's post over at life is bananas. I am VERY ready for this week to end. But on a lighter note I found out today that this girl
Photobucket
is coming home next week!!! I am so excited, I have not seen her since last year when she moved to London to do a 2 year job rotation. I know I know, bad friend right. Well lets just say this hasn't been the most opportune year for me to take off for a long vacation to Europe with work and the CPA exam and trying to buy a house. But I am ecstatic that she will be home and cannot wait to see her.

I met L about 5 years ago and we instantly bonded over beautiful shoes and our distaste for our long hours at work, since then my life has never been the same and I miss her like crazy. One of our first bonding experiences I came home with these beauties.

I cannot wait till she is back stateside and we can share our love for designer shoes, bags, coffee bean vanilla lattes and Kara's coconut cupcakes.

I also take off mid-day tomorrow for Monterey for a good friends wedding weekend.  I cannot wait to get out of town and the weather is supposed to be perfect.  So excited for her and her fiancĂ©  and cannot wait to share pictures of the weekend.

Food for thought

I got an e-mail from a friend today that had some thoughts in and and thought it was really interesting, since many are thoughts I have.  Here are just a few:
  •  Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong – This is the worst thing ever, especially when it comes to the boyfriend argument.
  • I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger – Napping is now one of my FAVORITE things to do.
  • There is a great need for sarcasm font – pretty sure if there was everything I wrote would be in it.
  •  How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? – roll it into a ball
  • I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger – extremely hard especially when there are M&M’s sitting on my neighbors desk.
  • Bad decisions make good stories – probably some of the greatest, sadly.
  • If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible – this just makes me smile.
  • You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day – yep definitely at that point today.
  • I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste – had one of those on Friday.
  • Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is – I would love to know why this always happens.
  • I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay – or PBR’s if you are talking to me.
