Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep today is number 30! And actually we are minutes away from my actual birth time. So here is to hopefully not to hectic of a work day, and to lunch at the most awesome beer place known to woman.
Lots of this tonight during some relaxation time with a new Grey's.

Cheers, if you are looking for me hopefully I will be consuming a tasty beverage or two, as of right now that includes coffee.

Recovery

Holy cow I am getting old. Yesterday was our annual girls Scott's brunch. For three years running we have gotten all the girls together in January to close out the holidays with brunch. If you do not know about Scott's Champagne Jazz Brunch you are missing out.  This brunch is notorious (at least with our group) for good times. All you can eat, all you can drink mimosa leaves me with a full belly and a 7 p.m. bedtime, this year was no different. Per the usual I walked away with a drunk impulse purchase, take a look at the beauty:
This morning when I started thinking a little clearer the guilt started, probably even more so because we are looking at booking our honeymoon this week.  I guess at least it is from nordstrom so if the guilt continues then I can make a return. Hmmm the 30th birthday is quickly approaching though, maybe I can justify it that way?
So as i continue to drag my feet through the day I will leave you with the one picture that came out of yesterday.
The pub's famous cheese sticks. Yum and were much needed!

Happy Monday!

Just passing the time..

Well hellooo there! The title today somewhat rings true. Since I found out last week that my company was being acquired I have been counting the days until we file our 10-Q this week because after that, its a tad downhill. Even though there has been no formal announcement about my departments jobs, being the non revenue making group we are it is pretty much guaranteed that we will be out of jobs. The whole thing hit me pretty hard and I think I am still trying to let it sink in. Hey what can I say, I like my co-workers and we have a good time with one another.

On the bright side of it all, a friend of mine got laid off last week (well that isn't the bright side part) but our "pity-party" Friday night was. M fired up the grill and I popped open the champagne (of the red label of sorts of course). It took me a little while to get out of bed on Saturday but once I did all hell broke loose in our front yard. Weeds beware, I am after you! I cannot wait until I finally get it in good shape (hopefully in time for the housewarming party). My neighbors confirmed what M and I thought, the previous owners only mowed the lawn for the past 5 years, anything else, forget it.

As the weekend continued into Sunday we headed out to Clayton (remember my love for their Oktobeerfest?) for their Art and Wine Festival where we had absolutely gorgeous weather, 83 to be exact. We spent the day outside and then headed home to grill up some food with my sisters. I seriously love having a home and having a fiance who loves hosting as much as I do. This is what our home is for, us and all our loved ones. I am off to catch some zzz's.

Here is to a brighter tomorrow...

The It's Friday, I'm In Love Series
It is Friday and I am in love with that! Seriously one of the longest weeks ever! Thank goodness I have a couple short weeks in front of me.

I just came across the coolest website ever! Knock Off Wood, check here out here. So cool and especially since some of the furniture built there is stuff I had been looking at but not wanting to drop the moolah on.

I love this boy, he has been ever so great in this craptastic week that I have had.

So tonight I am off to Tahoe for my sisters bachlorette this weekend, already dreaming of being back in my own bed Sunday night. Except that M will be gone when I get back for another work trip. Excited for next week though. Friday off and Saturday it is a bubbly tour through Napa! Yea bubbles!!!

Have a great weekend and see you all when I return.

Happy Merry Christmas

So I have the best boy ever! I just had to share my Christmas present with you all because it is so fantastic and I cannot wait until we have a house and can frame it and put it up. If any of you follow Mark Schwartz blog, High Heeled Art you might of seen the picture below posted up on Christmas. Well it is sold because it is mine!

My wonderful M had this made for me.  It has the shoe, champagne and purple. Such a fantastic surprise. Hope everyone's Christmas' treated you well.  There is one more on there that I want to add because I think it will be a perfect fit with this one. So stay away until I can convince M into buying the other one!

Yea they are here and they are super cute in person (yes I was a little worried). Cannot wait to show them off! In very good news: the building I work in won some Green award and are doing Champange and food with a band in about T-minus 1 hour. Yea!

Thanksgiving Splendor

So this weekend was fantastic! Although while I was sitting at my desk on Friday (of course the exchange just has to be open the day after Thanksgiving), most of you were sleeping your hangover off or running around town for those Black Friday deals. Well let me tell you something I am almost done (pre-Thanksgiving) since I hate when I HAVE to shop after. My Mom will be my receiver over the next couple weeks while the orders start coming in, I love having a Mom who works from home so that I can just have everything shipped there.

Wednesday night started out at friends consuming delicious crab and more champagne then any of us girls anticipated. I think it was 4 girls to 5 bottles of champagne, we love our champagne/sparkling wine.  Needless to say Thursday morning was a little rough when I woke up, but it was not too hard to get moving around since I knew I would be stuffing myself silly that day.

Thanksgiving Day was spent at my parents with a lot less people this year than last but of course we still had to much to eat and plenty to drink. Turkey, cranberry, pumpkin rolls,, and a lot more but of course my favorites are the first to come to mind.

Saturday was some friends of ours Post-Thanksgiving Bash in which we consume a ton more food and more champagne. Some photos of the night.
We seriously refuse to stop playing games like flip cup and beirut since the day that comes I guess we are grown up. One day we will get there but today is not the day.

From drinking games we moved on to our favorite bar for some karaoke. This place is always a good time. We have been there to watch a cougar fall over spread eagle in a mini skirt spilling beer all over herself, the karaoke guy having a heart attack and taken away in an ambulance. There are people who really take it seriously and well we are not those people.

We are not the best singers but we by far out sing the bar when you put us all up there.

My favorite of the entire night... all the boys up and singing New Kids on the Block.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Now on to the very full week ahead of us.

Happiest place on earth

So I do not know if I had told you guys that while I was down in Florida for my brother's wedding that we took an extra couple days for Disney World. I had never been and it has been 20 years since I was last at Disneyland so it was kind of a kick to be there.  We did the 5 day pass with the park hopper (which was totally worth it). Military families hurry rush serious discount available through the end of the year.

Here we are at the start of our Day at Epcot.  Pretty sure the boys were 2 deep already, they were playing the beer in every country game.  Epcot was awesome, I wish we had more time in Florida so that we did not have to rush through.

Seriously how white can my legs get, the match my shorts.

So my favorite "Country" was France, I mean really champagne in a theme park? My Dad and I doing what I do best, drinking bubbles. This was the first time I had Moet & Chandon Imperial, it was delicious. Loved it, way outdoes the White Star. While in France we not only had Champagne/wine/beer we also grabbed pastries from the Cafe and sat down and enjoyed ourselves for awhile. After France guess where my Dad ended up. Well not really but he sped ahead of us at some point and we found him here.

We continued the day and made it through the rest of the countries. Of course we stopped off in the homeland, Norway. Marcel thought that he would "fight off" the troll and save me, while I was obviously just chillen with him. We of course rode all the rides we could get on, Splash Mountain, Aerosmith, Tower of Terror, Pirates of the Carribean. Love the fast passes!

Me goofing around when we didn't have them. I seriously have the worst patience in the entire world. Thank goodness for my phone and games, although M was not to happy about that but hey its that or a very unhappy Kirsten and that is just not good for anyone.

Well that pretty much was the trip. We had an amazing time and so glad I made the visit to Disney World.  Probably will not be back until I have kids one day, and they will be at a walking age because I am not going to play bumper cars with the rest of the strollers (thousands upon millions) and the all the adults in their powered wheel chairs (probably the same amount of strollers).

$400K anyone?

Meaning does anyone have that laying around to loan me? Serious house hunting issues. Every time a great one pops up on the market it is snagged up by someone with a cash offer. Seriously who are these people with $400K just lying around? And if you know them can you introduce me. I lost probably what was the best house ever to someone with all cash (insert curse words here). The best part about it, M was going to get a massive man room out of it. I mean it was huge, large enough to turn into a granny flat (with bedroom, bathroom, separate living space and kitchen, I mean fo' reals) and it was going to be allllll his.

So last night I went and checked out some places and found a great one, it was further out then we would prefer but it was great and it had 8,000 sq feet of RV parking. I mean perfect right then M could build the man cave to his specifications with space to do his home brewing and space for him to watch ESPN all day long.

So my attention span changing from house to man cave I googled man cave and got this definition fom the Official Man Cave website (first off I cannot believe they have their own website, AND show):

man cave n. A dedicated area of a house, such as a basement, workshop, or garage, where a man can be alone or socialize with his friends.

So I digress, house hunting sucks and I am tired of looking and M is in China so it sucks even more because he is apprehensive (even though he said well if you like it then I will). I am pretty sure I will be having one of these later:

Either that or some serious amounts of bubbly.

And I didn't forget... I received my first blog award! YEA!

I received this award from the lovely lady over at K. Law.  I have been following before I decided to join this little world of blogging. And this I bestow to other ladies I have followed since before the beginning:
Miss Unbeweavable (we share a passion for the red soles)
My favorite Banana (we also love our red soles as well as beer) - in fact I bestow this to all Louboutin and beer lovers!
and of course Kelly who always has something fabulous to show off! (Those cakes today, gasp).

Octobeer

So some may know by my previous posts that I am a lover of fine things, I am also a lover of cheap things too (i.e. my love for PBR - the beer for classy bitches).  As noted in my post here I love bubbles, I can drink bubbles by the bottle, it just seems to go down like water.

A few of my favorites include those pictured (all images from google image), pure deliciousness. But since it is Octobeer, it's all about beer this month.  So for that I raise my glass for something other wonderful wonderful drinks.

First and foremost my all around as seen here.

Then we have my go to. I discovered this beer when I was living in the city a couple years back shortly after they opened the brewery in Berkeley. I fell in love and by the way I love this add:

True deal it is a great beer.

Next on the list would be Sierra Nevada's Summerfest. I asked M if when we have a house if I could have this on tap.  So totally scrumptious except it is obviously as the name states only available during the summer.

Another awesome beer but it is no longer available is Skydiver Blond.  Such a shame the brewery shut down but M has done a pretty good one of it since he was able to get the recipe.

There is the look at the life for me this month. Three cheers to Octobeer!
What are your favs?
All images above I found on google image.
